Donald Trump set to be agressive. Exits WHO and rewrite U.S citizenship basics.

On Day 1 as the 47th President of United States, Donald Trump issued a slew of executive orders, repealing dozens of directives issued by former president Joe Biden.

Shortly after taking oath and delivering a rousing inaugural address, Trump signed his first executive order at Washington’s Capitol One Arena, mandating all federal workers to return to the office full-time.

Trump signed as many as 80 executive orders overturning significant decrees of the former Democratic government. He pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organisation, put a temporary freeze on new federal regulations, and dropped all federal charges against the January 6 rioters.
President Donald Trump on Monday issued an executive order cracking down on birthright citizenships in the United States, which stands contrary to the 14th amendment of the US Constitution.

While addressing the media, Trump said, “The federal government will not recognize automatic birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens born in the United States. We are also going to enhance vetting and screening of illegal aliens.”

The series of executive orders that Trump outlined in his inaugural address, said he would invoke a 1798 wartime law known as the Alien Enemies Act to target foreign gang members in the US, a legal authority last used to detain non-citizens of Japanese, German, and Italian descent in internment camps during World War Two.

Further, Trump pulled the US out of the World Health Organisation, alleging that the agency mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic, among other health crises. Trump said the WHO had failed to act independently from the “inappropriate political influence of WHO member states” and required “unfairly onerous payments” from the US that are disproportionate to the sums provided by other, larger countries, such as China.

Trump also signed an executive order on Monday delaying the ban on short-video application TikTok by at least 75 days. The ban was scheduled to be imposed on January 19, 2025. When asked what TikTok order does, Trump said “just gave me the right to sell it or close it”….”and we’ll make that determination”.

Signed as one of his first orders of business as US President, Trump’s order directed the attorney general to not enforce the law “to permit my administration an opportunity to determine the appropriate course of action with respect to TikTok.

In a move promised by him during his election campaign, President Donald Trump signed orders dropping all criminal charges against almost all those booked in the January 6 riots. “What they’ve done to these people is outrageous,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office on Monday after signing the order.

The order cuts short the sentences of 14 members of the far-right Proud Boys and Oath Keepers organizations, including some who were convicted of seditious conspiracy. The document also directs the U.S. attorney general to drop all pending cases related to the riot.

While taking oath as the 47th President of the US on Monday, Trump visibly did not place his hand on Bible. Notably, his wife Melania Trump, who stood next to the President, was seen holding two bibles. However, the President was not seen placing his hand on either of them as he took oath to raise his right hand to take the oath.

It is a tradition in the US to use a Bible while taking the oath of office, however it is not required. Only the oath is mandated by the Constitution.

According to a report, Theodore Roosevelt didn’t use a Bible when he was sworn in following the assassination of William McKinley in 1901.

Lyndon B. Johnson also used a Catholic missal when he was sworn in after John Kennedy’s assassination in 1963,

Donald J Trump on Monday took oath for a second term as the United States President, announcing a raft of executive decisions, saying that the “golden age” of America had just begun.

In a fiery inaugural address, the 47th US president described January 20 as the “liberation day” and declared that “America’s decline is over” as changes will come “very quickly”.

“America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth, inspiring the awe and admiration from the entire world,” he said.

Trump storms back to the White House for the second term with a strongman persona and a vision of an all-powerful presidency with a promise to aggressively reset US policies in a range of domains including immigration, tariffs and energy.

The new US president listed a series of actions he would roll out immediately including declaring a national emergency at the US-Mexico border, renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, President Donald Trump in his inaugural speech accused Panama of breaking the promise it made to the United States, as he reiterated that he will take back Panama Canal. He added that the US has been treated very badly from ‘this foolish gift that should never been made’. He added that the American ships have not been treated fairly. He also attacked China saying that Beijing is operating the Panama Canal.

Trump began his second term in office with a series of announcements intended to drastically reduce the number of migrants entering the United States.

He vowed to declare a national emergency at the border with Mexico, immediately halt “all illegal entry” and begin the process of deporting “millions and millions of criminal aliens.”

In what comes as a major indication of strong India-US ties under incoming President Donald Trump, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar was offered a seat in the front row alongside Ecuadorean President Daniel Noboa. It marks a significant upgrade in official protocol. Meanwhile, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya is seated two rows behind.
